To avoid SA’s declining political and economic dynamics becoming ever more mutually reinforcing, the country must:

• subordinate all other economic objectives to the unifying goal of pummelling poverty;
• this must then provoke objective analysis to overcome the misconceptions and disconnects which preclude adequate growth.
  

The core insight which will then becomes prominent is that South Africa’s only way forward is to surge value-added exports.
